The Dallas Cowboys are starting the week off on the right note ahead of one of the biggest games of the year.

Left tackle Tyron Smith and right guard Zack Martin will both be limited in practice on Wednesday, per head coach Mike McCarthy via Dallas Morning News. While it's early, the unit is clearly trending in the right direction ahead of the Week 5 trip to face the San Francisco 49ers.

In contrast, Tyron Smith did not practice at all last week when he was ruled out for the Cowboys' game against the New England Patriots on Friday.

The Cowboys will need to be at their healthiest to have their best shot at the clear-cut NFC favorite four weeks into the season. With Nick Bosa leading one of the scariest defensive fronts in the league, Dallas could use a break.

If both Tyron and Zack Martin play on Sunday, along with the other three starters, it'll mark the first time the Cowboys get to use the following OL combination that they've intended since the 2020 preseason:

  • LT: Tyron Smith
  • LG: Tyler Smith
  • OC: Tyler Biadasz
  • RG: Zack Martin
  • RT: Terence Steele

Those five have yet to play a single game together in the above setup. When the Cowboys refused to kick Tyler Smith to tackle last week, they did so because of their plans to prioritize continuity to not skip a beat upon Tyron's return.

Micah Parsons added to the injury report

Parsons was added to the injury report as a limited participant, McCarthy said. He added he's "good to go," according to Nick Harris from DallasCowboys.com.

Parsons was added with a knee injury that occurred during last weekend's game versus the Patriots. In that same game, he returned in the second quarter and played late in the game, arguably to a fault.

Cowboys Wednesday Injury Report

It was a day of multiple veteran rest days, including Stephon Gilmore, CeeDee Lamb, and Demarcus Lawrence. Llamb also appears with a knee injury, a surprise. Peyton Hendershot remains absent from practice, pointing toward another potential elevation for TE Sean McKeon from the practice squad.
