The Dallas Cowboys got a big scare in their preseason loss on Saturday to the Seattle Seahawks. Rookie linebacker DeMarvion Overshown went down with a knee injury.
He walked back to the locker under his own power in street clothes and looked to be moving just fine. However, an MRI was needed to get the full spectrum of the condition of his knee.
Overshown had the MRI done on Sunday, and the results showed that he indeed did tear his ACL, which ends his rookie campaign.
Overshown was having an incredible training camp and played very well in the preseason before this unfortunate incident. Now, guys like Jabril Cox and Derek Harper have chances to step up in reserved roles behind Leighton Vander Esch and Damone Clark.
Despite going down, it's clear that Overshown is a part of the long-term future at linebacker for the Cowboys, and the hope is that his recovery goes smoothly.
Also, undrafted rookie tight end John Stephens suffered a torn ACL on Saturday as well.
