The Dallas Cowboys were on a four-game win streak before their meltdown against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday. One thing that hadn't happened since Thanksgiving against the New York Giants, was Micah Parsons recording a sack.
The reigning Defensive Rookie of the Year didn't waste any time ending his two-game sack drought, taking Trevor Lawrence down in the first quarter. It was the 13th of the season for Parsons, tying his rookie total, and making him the first player since Aldon Smith (2011-12) to record that many in each of his first two seasons.
Parsons has looked even more dominant this season than in 2021. He has six games with multiple sacks, just two shy of the record set by Hall of Famer Reggie White. A big reason for Parsons being more efficient as a pass rusher is due to him playing significantly more on the edge this season although he still plays some linebacker.
What's scary for the rest of the NFL when it comes to Parsons is that he's still in some ways raw as a pass rusher, yet he's already dominant. Once Parsons fine-tunes all the nuances of playing on the edge, he may need an entire record book for himself.
