The Dallas Cowboys have a star-studded roster with guys like Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb. However, one name sits atop the popularity list.
Micah Parsons has, in a lot of ways, become the face of the Cowboys franchise, and without question, the one player no fan has any doubts about. Well, other players in the NFL recognize the greatness of Parsons also.
One in particular, running back Saquon Barkley of the New York Giants, didn't hesitate to give his answer when he was asked who is the league's best player.
"Micah Parsons for sure," said Barkley
It's not like Barkley's opinion doesn't have some merit.
Despite having limited experience rushing the quarterback at Penn State, Parsons has racked up 26.5 sacks over his first two years, and he's done so not playing on the edge full-time. Also, Parsons has 157 pressures (tied for the NFL lead with 90 last season), 100 hurries, and 56 quarterback hits.
Parsons has made some of the top offensive tackles look like they just picked up the sport of football last week with his combination of speed and power. Now, he's taking it a step further this offseason and is working on another aspect of his game.
"I got tired of people punching me in my face," Parsons said. "I'm a smaller end and these guys are long and just learning how to keep my hands up, knocking them down, defending my chest, defending my face and just being smooth."
Parsons is already a menace on the edge. So, that fact that he's perfecting his handwork which won't allow offensive linemen to grab him as much means some scary hours for opposing quarterbacks in 2023.
