On Thursday, Dallas Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy addressed one of the biggest scares of training camp yet. During the team's second padded practice on Tuesday, Dak Prescott was hit by a defender, leading to his going down.

The man hitting the quarterback wearing the red jersey befitting an untouchable player? Micah Parsons.

The Cowboys' pass-rushing linebacker simply can't help himself. He's dominating nearly every rep in camp, no matter who lines up across from him. The way he goes about that is a result of his otherworldly speed.

Just like offensive linemen find it a backbreaking endeavor to stop the two-time All-Pro, Micah himself struggles to stop himself when he gets through. In the play in question – which you can watch in the tweet below -he tried to stop his momentum after going down himself. His failure to do so ended up in Prescott – who's having a great camp – going down after a hit around the knees.

"We have practice ethic rules, structured to our drills and you go through these spots all the time," McCarthy told reporters before Thursday's practice. "We don't hit the quarterback. And that quarterback hasn't been hit as far as the way you practice in the 30 years (that I've been) in this league"

While watching Parsons dominate on the field is as fun in practice as it is on gameday, one "gone-wrong" moment is all it takes to send an entire NFL season into the garbage can. The Cowboys head coach will cut Parsons some slack, though.

"This is why you have camp," McCarthy added. "If you think about it the offensive linemen and the D-line, this is only the third practice that they can really engage and compete that's similar to gameday."

Knowing Micah, it's difficult to bet on him slowing down. But hopefully, he finds a way to be more careful when it comes to hitting No. 4 and comply with the team's practice ethic rules.

"He is a No. 1 violator right now," McCarthy said.

That better change before he ruins the Cowboys' hopes for a deep playoff run.
