Micah Parsons likes to talk about greatness. More specifically, he loves to discuss his own chase of it. Almost as consistently as the pressure he generates versus opposing quarterbacks, Parsons drops quotes on how he wants to build a legacy as a dominant defensive player in NFL history.

As a hybrid player that continues to push the boundaries of what Dallas Cowboys fans believe possible, Parsons has drawn plenty of comparisons to one of football's greats, Lawrence Taylor.

Some call it an exaggeration, and some love the boldness of it, but no one can deny there's merit to the conversation even if it's early in his career.

But this weekend, Parsons had another GOAT in mind as he gets ready to face the New York Giants on Monday Night Football: Michael Jordan.

That's right, Micah Parsons hinted at a legendary performance by dropping a Michael Jordan GIF on the Twitter timeline. Why?

You see, Micah missed two days of practice before being limited on Saturday with illness. Cowboys' head coach Mike McCarthy mentioned the superstar pass-rusher had cold-like symptoms and later called it allergies.

For those unfamiliar with the scene displayed on the GIF, that's Michael Jordan's "Flu Game." Back in 1997, Jordan had one of the most iconic performances in sports history while dealing with what at the time was described as the flu (Jordan confirmed in The Last Dance what really happened to him was food poisoning, but that doesn't sound as fun and is beside the point right now).

Even though Jordan was "slowed down," he still delivered for the Chicago Bulls. He scored 38 points (13-of-27 shooting) and had seven rebounds, five assists, three steals, and one block in 44 minutes. The rest is history.

The Cowboys-Giants game on Monday is not of the importance of an NBA Finals game, but you know Micah Parsons is treating it as such. The DE/LB has established himself as the odds-on favorite to win Defensive Player of the Year and leads the league in pressure rate with four sacks to his name.

Against the Giants – and the worst NFL offensive line per PFF – Micah has a chance at changing the game in favor of the Cowboys just like he did versus the Bengals.

To do so, he'll have to channel his inner-Michael Jordan and beat his illness.
