It's been a wild 24 hours for the Dallas Cowboys. On Monday, they signed defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence to a three-year deal. Early on Tuesday, they also brought back safety Malik Hooker on a two-year deal.
The Cowboys' biggest in-house free agent, Randy Gregory, agreed to a five-year deal worth $70 million with the team, but he agreed to the same terms with the Denver Broncos after things went downhill due to a last-minute language change in the contract.
This was a big loss, but All-Pro linebacker Micah Parsons is doing his part to right the wrong. Tuesday, he took to Twitter in an effective effort to recruit free agents Von Miller and Bobby Wagner to Dallas.
Either player would be a major addition to the defense. Miller changed the Los Angeles Rams' pass-rush and helped them defeat the Cincinnati Bengals in Super Bowl LVI with two sacks. Putting him opposite Lawrence would certainly make up for losing Gregory.
Parsons isn't the only one trying to get Miller to the Cowboys. The organization's all-time sack leader DeMarcus Ware, who won a Super Bowl in Denver with Miller in 2015, spoke to the free agent edge rusher about joining America's Team.
Wagner has ties to the Cowboys through defensive coordinator Dan Quinn, whom he played under in 2013 and 2014 with the Seattle Seahawks. According to Patrik Walker of CBS Sports, Quinn and the Cowboys have expressed interest in that idea, as well.
The blow of losing Gregory was big. However, one or both of these moves would not just soften said blow, but it would be a considered a win for the Cowboys.
