The Dallas Cowboys have been one of the best teams in the NFL over the past two seasons. In 2021, the Cowboys won the division and hosted a playoff game. Then, Dallas followed that up by winning a road playoff game in 2022.

But there is work to be done. The Cowboys are looking to get over the hump and reach the next level next season. Fortunately, head coach Mike McCarthy is confident that the team has the recipe that will lead to more success in 2023.

And that revolves around the offensive line. Dallas has had dominant stretches in the trenches, but the Cowboys struggled up front last season. Thanks in large part to injuries. However, McCarthy believes that continuity will pay off.

The Cowboys will return familiar faces to the offensive line in 2023. Tyron Smith is set to be back after missing the majority of the season last year. Tyler Smith is entering his second year in the league and Terence Steele will be back in the fold, too.

Therefore, McCarthy is excited about the versatility that the Cowboys have up front. Tyron Smith can play either tackle spot. Tyler Smith is able to line up inside or outside. Dallas has even thought about trying Steele out at guard.

"I like the fact of versatility that we have. We want to line up and play five guys for 20 games," McCarthy recently said this offseason. "The continuity of your offensive line directly affects your win total. Position flex is critical, so we'll work all of those angles."

McCarthy echoed similar sentiments while speaking with the media this week. He stressed that "history tells you that continuity" along the offensive line plays a significant role in winning and losing on Sundays.

Ultimately, how healthy the Dallas Cowboys are up front will play just as big – if not bigger – role in the wins and losses. But continuity will certainly help, too. Mike McCarthy is certainly banking on it.
