As you might've expected, the first question reporters tossed Mike McCarthy's way on Wednesday was about Dallas Cowboys' superstar Micah Parsons.

The edge rusher suffered an injury that led to him exiting practice early on Tuesday while wearing a wrap on his left leg. Moments after the incident, Parsons told reporters he had been kicked. And yet, it was easy to overreact (I know I did, fearing a soft-tissue injury) with it being Micah involved.

"I think he's fine to go," McCarthy told reporters and looked almost confused at the notion of there being anything wrong with him. It's worth noting Parsons didn't go into the medical tent on Tuesday – per DallasCowboys.com's Patrik Walker – despite wearing a wrap.

On Wednesday, the wrap was gone for Parsons.

Cowboys fans should take a huge sigh of relief as we're talking about the superstar defender avoiding what could've been a lingering injury. Instead, it's business as usual for the player who's received votes for Defensive Player of the Year in consecutive seasons. Expect him to be in the running once again in 2023.

Parsons has been dominating practice day in and day out since the pads came on and he was allowed to go at full speed. At times, he's even hit Dak Prescott because his intensity will often keep him from stopping in time. Mike McCarthy has called him out for it and labeled him the No. 1 violator of the golden rule: Don't hit the quarterback.

In September, the Cowboys will want him to. The NFL regular season can't get here quickly enough.
