The NFC East is making moves ahead of the trade deadline. One day after the Dallas Cowboys added depth at two defensive positions, the Philadelphia Eagles one-upped them by making a big-time addition.
On Wednesday, the still-undefeated Eagles traded for defensive end Robert Quinn. They paid only a fourth-round pick to land the pass rusher as reported by NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
While Quinn isn't the same player as before, this is still a very good pickup by the Eagles. The Cowboys' rival ranks seventh in the NFL in pressure rate and they don't need the blitz to get home.
The former Cowboys' defensive end (Quinn played in Dallas in 2019 and had a productive season) is not having the best year so far. He only has one sack and two quarterback hits seven weeks into the season.
But with the Eagles, the veteran will be right at home as he'll play in a scheme similar to the one that made him successful under coach Vic Fangio last year.
While the Cowboys can let out a brief sigh of relief for not having to face Quinn on Sunday when they square off against the Bears, this trade reinforces the leader in the division.
The Eagles are looking like one of the best teams in football and they're adding talent.
