Dallas Cowboys CB Trevon Diggs suffered a leg injury during Thursday's practice ahead of the team's Week 3 road game versus the Arizona Cardinals. The news takes a major hit on what was shaping up to be a promising injury report.
Per Dallas Morning News' David Moore, he is having an MRI on his knee to evaluate the severity of the injury.
Diggs was reportedly injured during the 1-on-1 period of practice, per Michael Gehlken. He was later seen on crutches in the locker room by media members. Asked about the injury, quarterback Dak Prescott didn't offer much, saying “I’m not gonna speculate, way too early. I saw him leaving the field. Prayers and hoping for the best, simple as that," via Dallas Cowboys' Nick Harris.
Understandably, Cowboys fans are scared as they await updates. Diggs has been playing at a very high level as he's allowed a passer rating of 1.0 through two games while showing much-improved physicality in his tackling, the continuation of an upward trend that started in 2022 when he slashed his missed tackles percentage.
For now, all that the Cowboys can do is wait for an update on the MRI and prepare for the worst in the meantime ahead of Week 3 when they'll travel to Arizona to take on the 0-2 Cardinals.
