The Dallas Cowboys signed veteran offensive lineman Jason Peters about a week before the 2022 season kicked off to give them some insurance in the trenches. This Sunday, the Cowboys play Peters's former team, the Philadelphia Eagles, in a showdown for first place in the NFC East.
A rivalry of this magnitude doesn't need any bulletin board material. However, Peters has provided plenty just days before this big early-season matchup.
The nine-time Pro Bowler took off the gloves when describing the fan base of the Eagles.
"I just know the Philly fans are f—— idiots when it comes to camaraderie, the Cowboys — any team really….They know that," said Peters. "They pride themselves on being nasty, vulgar. They're going to cuss at you….Philly fans are the wildest fans out there to me."
Talk about shots fired.
Peters suffered a chest injury that put his status for Sunday in jeopardy. After taking the practice field on Wednesday, Peters said all is well.
“I’m good. I practiced today. I feel good. I’m ready to roll," said Peters.
It's unknown how much Peters will play against the Eagles. One thing's for certain, it will be extra spicy on the field when he does.
