The Dallas Cowboys have had an active week as the NFL required teams across the league to cut down rosters to 53. That meant that tough decisions had to be made regarding keeping or moving on certain players.

In that process, Dallas made a trade, too. The Cowboys sent out Kelvin Joseph to the Miami Dolphins in exchange for cornerback Noah Igbinoghene. Both Joseph and Igbinoghene were on the bubble of making their team's respective rosters.

Now, the two get fresh starts in new places. For the Cowboys, the team is hoping that they can the most out of the 2020 first-round draft selection. Igbinoghene was drafted  No. 30 overall out of Auburn. But he has failed to meet those expectations.

Fortunately, Igbinoghene has the right mindset coming into the Cowboys. Instead of doubting himself or holding onto what happened in Miami, the newest Cowboys defender is welcoming is new opportunity.

"I feel like my past is done away with. Now I get to start a new future, a new present and be in the present," Igbinoghene said. "Versus. Miami, where I was constantly thinking about the past."

Igbinoghene struggled to carve out a consistent role and live up to his draft status while with the Dolphins. That rocky situation directly led to how he performed on the field.

"That kinda messed up my game when I got into the game. I was afraid to make mistakes, afraid to fail," the defensive back explained. "But you know, you can't be afraid to fail in life. You've got to take risks. You've got to go after what you want."

The Dallas Cowboys are looking to upgrade the talent in the secondary, while Igbinoghene is looking to turn his career around on a team ready to contend. That sounds like an ideal match for both parties.
