A mad CeeDee Lamb is a good thing for the Dallas Cowboys. Since showing his discontent about his role on offense following the loss to the San Francisco 49ers in Week 5, Lamb has provided elite results.
On Sunday's 43-20 win against the Los Angeles Rams, he couldn't be stopped. In all, Lamb had 12 catches for a whopping 158 yards and two touchdowns.
He consistently moved the chains as Dak Prescott repeatedly found him over the middle and near the sidelines. One of Lamb's touchdowns came in a scramble drill, where he ended up being completely open in the end zone. He even got a carry in a jet motion play, where he gained 12 yards.
In a year where Mike McCarthy had received some well-deserved criticism, the head coach deserves some credit. The Cowboys consistently manufactured touches for their best playmaker on this one. His player let him know that change was needed. He listened.
Prescott also threw touchdowns to Jake Ferguson and Brandin Cooks. It was his best performance for the season, logging a 133.3 passer rating by completing 81% of his passes for 304 yards, four touchdowns, and one tipped interception.
Other observations
- DaRon Bland and the Cowboys' cornerbacks had themselves a game. Rams wide receivers Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua were non-factors on this one despite being one of the best duos in the NFL this season. Bland's pick-six made franchise history.
- As soon as the Cowboys had a two-possession lead in the first half, the pass rush didn't let Matthew Stafford alone. Micah Parsons was consistently generating pressure as he was often isolated in one-on-one situations.
- Brandon Aubrey keeps going, man! He's now 18-for-18 to start his career, tying in an NFL record. He even made one from 58 yards this time. The Cowboys nailed this decision and they deserve praise for it.
- Chuma Edoga was carted off the sideline late in the game. It'll be a situation to monitor moving forward.
