The Dallas Cowboys have to be thanking their lucky stars after the latest report.

Mazi Smith, the Cowboys' first-round pick back in April, has been dealing with some knee tendinitis and discomfort during training camp. After an MRI on Tuesday, he's doing fine, per Michael Gehlken of the Dallas Morning News.

Whew, that's a relief.

The Cowboys drafted Smith to be a run stuffer and an anchor in the middle of their defensive front. However, shortly after he was drafted, Smith mentioned that getting reps on the edge would also be a part of the plan for him.

Now that Smith is good to go after this knee scare, he can get back to causing havoc wherever he lines up.
