All publicity isn't good publicity, and this latest update involving the Dallas Cowboys fits under that umbrella.

Running back Ronald Jones, who signed with the team back in March about a week after Ezekiel Elliott was released, has been suspended for the first two games of the regular season for violating the NFL's performance-enhancing drug policy.

Jones will be able to participate in practice and all preseason games before Week 1.

The former first-round pick did his best work with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers when they won the Super Bowl in 2020 when he racked up 978 yards and seven touchdowns. However, he's coming off a year in which he only registered 70 yards and appeared in just six games for the Kansas City Chiefs, but he did get another Super Bowl ring.

Jones has an uphill climb to make the Cowboys' final 53-man roster already with rookie Duece Vaughn, Malik Davis, and Rico Dowdle as his competition to backup Tony Pollard. Now, it's gotten even steeper, and he may not even be around after this.
