The Dallas Cowboys are going through their OTAs and are preparing for their mandatory minicamp next week. After that, they'll hold another set of OTA practices before they have a break before training camp.

Rookie tight end, Luke Schoonmaker, is expected to have a pretty significant role in a talented room featuring Jake Ferguson and Peyton Hendershot. At the moment, the second-round pick is dealing with a little issue.

According to ESPN's Todd Archer, Schoonmaker is battling plantar fascia and has been wearing a protective boot.

Plantar fascia is an inflammation of a  thick band of tissue that connects the heel bone to the toes. So, it's important to be very cautious with it because it can be a painful thing to deal with, especially for Schoonmaker who has to put 250 pounds of pressure on it every time he moves.

The good thing is that there's been no physical contact so far in practice so Schoonmaker hasn't had to worry about making it worse for the moment. It's something to monitor but Schoonmaker should be fine at the end of the day.
