The Dallas Cowboys are losing yet another rookie to a season-ending ACL injury.

Days removed from LB DeMarvion Overshown's and TE John Stephen's injuries in the Cowboys' preseason game against the Seattle Seahawks, it's wide receiver David Durden who is now set to miss out on all of 2023 with the same injury.

Durden went down during Wednesday night's practice at The Star and fears about a serious injury are now official as Dallas Morning News' Michael Gehlken reported an MRI confirmed it's a torn ACL for Durden.

The undrafted free agent quickly gained popularity during the draft process following a series of articles by The Athletic covering him anonymously as "Prospect X." The Cowboys hoped he could develop into a special teams ace.

However, Durden wasn't expected to be a part of the Cowboys' 53-man roster when cuts take place next week.

That being said, losing a rookie season due to an injury can be a huge blow for any player's career as it's a very important period of their development. Hopefully, Durden is able to come back stronger in Year 2 of his career.
