The Dallas Cowboys are going to ride Tony Pollard until the wheels fall off. Well, at least for the time being.

Dallas placed the franchise tag on Pollard back in early March which he signed a few weeks later. However, the deadline for Pollard and the Cowboys to reach a long-term deal is 4 pm EST on Monday.

According to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, that doesn't seem likely which means Pollard will play on the $10.1 million price tag in 2023.

Pollard got more opportunities than ever before in 2022 and he racked up career highs in rushing yards (1,007), rushing touchdowns (9), and receiving yards (371) which led to his first Pro Bowl nod.

The Cowboys have confidence in Pollard, and they showed that by hitching their wagon to him and moving on from Ezekiel Elliott. However, contracts can take some time, especially for a guy like Pollard who is looking for his first lucrative long-term deal, so the waiting game continues.
