A 40-0 win like the Dallas Cowboys were able to put together versus the New York Giants is the perfect way to make an early statement that shakes up the NFL Power Rankings.

Our very own Destin Adams has the Cowboys making a big jump after Week 1 in his full Power Rankings, as America's Team jumped the Philadelphia Eagles.

One week into the regular season, he has the Cowboys ranked at No. 3 in the entire NFL, trailing only the San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs. Rounding out the top five are the fourth-place Eagles and the Miami Dolphins (fifth).

It's easy to understand what impressed my colleague Destin enough to move the Cowboys up six spots. The defense dominated a Giants offensive line well beyond Micah Parsons. The offense, although it didn't have a highly productive day in the stat sheet, controlled the ball well and didn't turn the ball over. The offensive line also overcame Tyler Smith's absence against Dexter Lawrence and Leonard Williams, one of the best defensive duos in all of football.

Here's how Adams broke it down:

The Dallas Cowboys made quite the statement in Week 1, with the largest blowout of the week over the New York Giants 40-0. The Cowboys made multiple moves this offseason to push their chips in on a Super Bowl run this year, such as trading for WR Brandin Cooks and CB Stephon Gilmore. Gilmore showed in Week 1 that he still is a problem for NFL offenses at age 32. The CB hauled in his first interception of the year and only allowed a 12.5 passer rating when targeted.

Now, it's time for that deep breath we all know is in order. It's only one week of football. In Week 2, the Cowboys will play a legitimately good defense. Even without Aaron Rodgers, nothing will be granted. The same goes for the rest of the season
