Dallas Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs is one of the most polarizing players in football.
A legitimate ball hawk, Diggs quickly emerged as a playmaking defensive back during his second season in the NFL. He set records, grew into a feared corner, and earned first-team All-Pro honors.
On the flip side, Diggs was prone to taking risks, which sometimes resulted in explosive plays for the other team. That is what made him such a polarizing player — you knew something big was going to happen, one way or the other.
This season, however, Trevon Diggs has been even better. The third-year star has displayed better technique, is not giving up the big plays that he did a season ago, and is still proving to be the playmaking threat that he's built a brand on.
Diggs makes bold claim
You have to have confidence when playing cornerback int he National Football League. It's mandatory and there's no way around that. Trevon Diggs certainly has that confidence and swagger.
The Cowboys defender has held the likes of Justin Jefferson, Terry McLaurin, and AJ Brown to forgettable performances. Additionally, he has grabbed three interceptions on the season, too.
He believes that he is the best at his position in the NFL. It is difficult to argue against that, as Diggs is firmly in the upper-echelon at corner in the league right now.
“I just would never put another corner in front of me," Diggs said on Friday. "I wouldn’t say another corner is better than me.”
Trevon Diggs has taken another step forward in his development. That has proven to be the case this season as teams are staying away from his side of the field more often than not.
Diggs is consistently showcasing the ability to matchup with some of the best receivers that the league has to offer. His coverage ability combined with the pass rush makes the Cowboys a force in that department.
Trevon Diggs has every right to feel the way that he does about his game. His continued progress makes him one of the most feared defensive backs in the league. Which is great news for the Cowboys and their championship aspirations.
