Trevon Diggs should swap jersey numbers with Jayron Kearse, who started wearing number 1 this season for the Dallas Cowboys.

Why? Because that's the NFL passer rating that Diggs has allowed two weeks into the season. One. Uno. 1. How crazy is that? Probably more than you believe at first because consider the following that PFF's Sam Monson reminds us of: The passer rating of throwing the ball at the dirt every play is 39.6.

In other words, through two weeks, quarterbacks would be better off spiking the football than actually targeting the Cowboys' starting cornerback. Now, we know that's not literally true, but let's dive deeper into the numbers.

Diggs has been targeted eight times this year, allowing just two catches (both against the Giants) for 26 yards in those plays. He's recorded two pass breakups and one interception in two games.

The Jets game is the one that really changes the math as he allowed zero catches the five times that Zach Wilson targeted him. Diggs might owe some of that to DeMarcus Lawrence, to be fair. The defensive end got a timely hit on the Jets QB right as he let the football go, seeking Garrett Wilson, who had seemingly beat Diggs with a double move in the red zone.

“Yeah, (Garrett Wilson is a) very good player. I’ve got tremendous respect for him," Diggs told reporters after the game.

That's the beauty of the Cowboys defense, though. The pass rush helps out the coverage one play only to see the roles flip the next one.

One area in which Diggs has shown major improvement is his physicality though. His hit on Saquon Barkley in Week 1 (which allowed for a DaRon Bland pick-six) is the perfect example of that. He's also missed zero tackles this year.

“It’s really fun," Diggs said of the success the Cowboys are having. "We’ve just got to keep executing, keep putting our foot on the gas and just stay right here. Don’t get too high, don’t get too low, and just stay focused on one game at a time.”
