The Dallas Cowboys need a little more on the defensive interior for depth purposes, and they are doing their pre-draft homework in that area.

LSU defensive tackle Jaquelin Roy will be hosted for a top-30 visit, per Mike Garafolo of NFL Network.

Cowboys defensive coordinator Dan Quinn was in attendance at his Pro Day so Roy being a top-30 visit isn't too surprising.

Roy was a rotational piece in his freshman season in 2020 and logged 18 tackles (four tackles for loss) and two sacks. His sophomore campaign was arguably his best as he had the highest grades in run defense (68.6), pass-rush (89.6), and overall defense (81.2) according to Pro Football Focus. Roy amassed 30 tackles (six tackles for loss), 1.5 sacks, a forced fumble, and two fumble recoveries that year.

Last season Roy was productive once again as he logged 12 starts in 13 games and finished with 49 tackles (3.5 tackles for loss), a half-sack, and a fumble recovery.

Roy comes in at 6'3" and 305 pounds. A hamstring injury limited Roy at the combine but he ran a 5.13 in the 40-yard dash at his Pro Day.

He can get better against the run but Roy uses his strength to be an effective bull rusher. Roy has active hands that he utilizes to keep offensive linemen from bottling him up, and he also uses an array of pass-rush moves.

The Cowboys have Osa Odighizuwa, Johnathan Hankins, Neville Gallimore, Quinton Bohanna, and Chauncey Golston on their defensive interior. So, they don't have to take another defensive too early, and Roy is looked at as a mid-round pick which the Cowboys could look to add on the second or third day of the draft depending on how the chips fall.
