The Dallas Cowboys have won 12 games in consecutive seasons for the first time since the 1990s when they ran roughshod over the NFL with three Super Bowl titles in four years.
Despite the outside hate he gets, unfortunately from Cowboys fans a lot of time, quarterback Dak Prescott has been a huge reason for that, and Dallas has their best chance of getting their sixth Lombardi trophy with him at the helm.
Prescott, like any player, knows what he wants his legacy to be once he hangs up his cleats. Well, on Thursday, Prescott revealed what that was, and it was a tear-jerker.
"As a player, as you just said, I want to win a Super Bowl," said Prescott. "I want to be right there with those two guys (Hall of Fame quarterbacks Roger Staubach and Troy Aikman) and say I won a Super Bowl for this organization. And then as a person, I want to be a hell of a player, they say he's a great player, one of the best, Hall of Fame type player that when I'm done they can say he was that type of player but the person he was was way better.
"And really, as much as I hope I impact and inspire the people, a man my mom would be proud of."
Who's cutting onions?
Prescott's mom, Peggy, tragically passed away in 2013 after battling cancer. He established the Faith Fight Finish Foundation which endorses cancer research, mental health, and suicide prevention. Also, it focuses on bridging the gap between law enforcement and the people in the communities in which they serve.
Prescott's foundation not only honors his mother but also his brother, Jace, who unfortunately committed suicide in 2020.
Just based on that alone there's no doubt that Prescott's mother is proud of him. Also, he's one of the better quarterbacks in the NFL so his football talent is making her smile from heaven's as well.
Cowboys’ star takes home the NFL’s most prestigious award
The 2022 season didn't end the way that Dak Prescott or the Dallas Cowboys would have liked. But on Thursday night, Prescott received the highest honor in the NFL. After being a nominee twice (2018, 2021), Prescott was named the NFL's Walter Payton Man of the Year winner. Prescott is the fourth member of the […]
