When the Dallas Cowboys drafted CeeDee Lamb back in 2020, many said Dallas won the draft. The former Oklahoma wide receiver was a consensus All-American in college. Several draft analysts pegged him as the top wideout in the entire draft class.
For whatever reason, Lamb fell to the 17th overall selection — and right into the Dallas Cowboys' lap. Alabama products Henry Ruggs (12th overall to the Raiders) and Jerry Jeudy (15th to the Broncos) were both taken ahead of Lamb. Wide receiver may not have been the most pressing need for Dallas, but Lamb's talent was too much to pass up.
Now, the Cowboys are reaping the benefits of the rest of the NFL passing on CeeDee Lamb. Lamb has emerged as a legit go-to weapon for Dak Prescott as he has become a nightmare for defenses.
We saw flashes from Lamb as a rookie. He caught 74 passes for 935 yards and five touchdowns as a rookie. That was with Prescott missing most of the season and the likes of Andy Dalton, Ben DiNucci, and Garrett Gilbert throwing the majority of the passes.
This season, Lamb has taken off in a big way. Defenses have no answer, and the chemistry between the second-year wideout and star quarterback is obvious. That was highlighted by Prescott's throw to Lamb to win last week's matchup with the Patriots.
LAMB IS PUTTING UP HUGE NUMBERS WITH PRESCOTT

CeeDee Lamb is coming off an incredible nine-catch, 149-yard, and two-touchdown performance versus New England. That obviously includes the game-winning score to beat the Patriots, 35-29, in overtime.
Lamb and Prescott have played just 11 games together so far. Prescott, of course, suffered a season-ending injury in week five of last year. Now back on the field, we are seeing what this passing attack can truly be.
Through the 11 games together, Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb have put up staggering numbers. Lamb has hauled in nearly 1,000 yards in addition to six touchdowns with Prescott throwing him the rock.
The talent has always been there with Lamb. It's why so many were thrilled when the Cowboys did not blink and drafted him back in 2020. Lamb is living up to his billing with Prescott behind center.
Prescott fully trusts the second-year star, and it is paying off dividends for the Dallas Cowboys. The Cowboys are leading the league in points (34.2) and yards (460.8) per game so far this season. Defenses have no answer — and a large part of that can be attributed to the connection that Prescott and Lamb have.
