The biggest storyline surrounding the Dallas Cowboys is none other than Dak Prescott and his health. Prescott is currently dealing with a latissimus strain in his right shoulder. The injury has limited the Cowboys quarterback since the first week of training camp.

Prescott has not played a snap in the preseason, and he has not participated much at all in team drills during training camp. With the regular season right around the corner, there is some concern on how healthy Prescott is.

Many within the Dallas Cowboys organization, including Jerry Jones, have been adamant about Prescott being fully on track to play in week one. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers present a mighty challenge, so Dallas certainly needs Prescott at full health.

The expectation has been that Dak Prescott will ramp things up in practice as soon as this week. That appears to be the case. Reports have come out on Wednesday that Prescott will participate in team drills.

Dak Prescott is expected to throw in 7-on-7 today, according to David Helman. This will be the first time that Prescott will be involved in "competitive work" since the first week of Cowboys training camp.

This is obviously huge news for both Prescott and the Cowboys. Signs are pointing to Prescott returning to full participation sooner rather than later. Throwing in 7-on-7 is among the first steps of that happening.

There has been no sense of worry or panic from the Cowboys side of things this entire time. That said, it is still has to be comforting to see Prescott return to some team action with the season quickly approaching.

Dak Prescott will not play this weekend in the preseason finale; however, he appears to be on track to be ready to play week one of the 2021 regular season.
