The Dallas Cowboys have had a plethora of great quarterbacks such as Roger Staubach, Troy Aikman, and Tony Romo. However, on Monday night, Dak Prescott did something none of them ever did in the postseason.

Prescott's lit up the Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense for 305 passing yards and five total touchdowns, and he also set a new Cowboys' playoff record for passer rating.

Prescott was surgical against the Buccaneers. After missing on all three of his pass attempts on the Cowboys' opening drive, Prescott completed 11 straight passes, a franchise playoff record. He ended up going 25 for 33 with an unreal 96.5 QBR.

The regular season finale against the Washington Commanders was a disaster for Prescott. He completed just 14 of his 37 passes and threw an interception, his 11th in a seven-game span (had four games with multiple interceptions over that span).

Prescott spoke on whether that pedestrian performance gave him added motivation to play well against the Buccaneers.

"In a sense, I mean I guess," Prescott said. "I got away from the way I play this game, I got greedy. Tried to just force some throws, tried to take the big ones and that's not who I've been throughout my career, taking what they give, waiting on the big shot. I think it was uncharacteristic so, yeah sure, it was a way for me to just dial it back in. But I wiped that clean and I knew what this game meant. I knew how important it was for us, and as I said, we were prepared."

Unfortunately for the Cowboys, they will have to face the San Francisco 49ers on short rest. The 49ers beat the Seattle Seahawks last Saturday, two days before the Cowboys played.

However, Prescott wasn't phased when asked about the matchup.

"What are we going to do about it? The game is set," Prescott said. "So, we will be there – I can promise you that. I get it, but I can't do anything about it."

Dallas will need another superb outing to get past the 49ers in the second round.
