Seven weeks have come and gone already this NFL season. After the first seven weeks, the Dallas Cowboys are firmly among the league's elite.
The Cowboys had its bye week in week seven, but Dallas actually increased its lead in the NFC East. Dallas sits at 5-1 on the season, while the other three teams in the division hold a measly 2-5 record.
Dallas is 2-0 in the division and has knocked off the 4-2 Los Angeles Chargers while also playing the 6-1 Tampa Bay Buccaneers to the final seconds. As a result, the Cowboys are one of just five teams in the league with one or fewer losses.
COWBOYS ARE PART OF STACKED NFC

The four other teams are also in the NFC: Arizona Cardinals, Green Bay Packers, Los Angeles Rams, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Arizona and Green Bay are set to play on Thursday night, so there is a chance that the Packers fall off the list.
It is evident that the NFC is very stacked, especially towards the top. The bad news is that makes the road to the Super Bowl that much more difficult for the Cowboys. The good news, however, is that Dallas is right up there with the rest of the conference contenders.
Dak Prescott is a legitimate MVP candidate. Kellen Moore has the offense rolling. Dan Quinn has the defense playing impressive takeaway football, while Trevon Diggs is emerging as a bonafide star.
The Dallas Cowboys are still set to welcome back the likes of DeMarcus Lawerence, La'el Collins, Michael Gallup, Donovan Wilson, and Kelvin Joseph this season. It is very possible that the Cowboys are going to be even better with those players on the field.
There is no doubt that the NFC is very competitive at the top. However, the Cowboys certainly belong. Up next for Dallas is a tricky matchup with the Minnesota Vikings on the road.
