The Dallas Cowboys have won five consecutive games, most recently defeating the New England Patriots on Sunday. Dallas played the Tampa Bay Buccaneers down to the wire and have a road win over the Los Angeles Chargers on the résumé.
As a result, the Cowboys look the part of a true champion contender and are running away from the rest of the NFC East.
Dallas holds a three-game lead in the division after Washington, Philadelphia, and New York all lost in week six. The Eagles fell to the Buccaneers on Thursday Night Football. Washington imploded against the Chiefs. The Giants were blown out by the Rams at home.
The Cowboys have as many wins (five) by themselves as the rest of the division combined. That is a pretty wild static after six games, regardless of how bad the other three teams are.
COWBOYS HAVE CLEAR PATH TO PLAYOFFS

Dallas has played impressive football this season and would be the favorite to win the division, even if the other three teams weren't struggling as much. Having Dak Prescott back on the field has, obviously, been a welcome sign for the Cowboys after he missed the majority of the 2020 season.
Dak Prescott and the offense have been rolling all season long. Dan Quinn has the defense playing so much better than the unit played last season. Trevon Diggs is emerging as a superstar in the secondary.
La'el Collins is set to return from his five-game suspension by the time that the Cowboys take the field again. Michael Gallup is expected to return from injury in the coming weeks. Rookie corner Kelvin Joseph has been activated from injured reserve. DeMarcus Lawrence and Donovan Wilson are two more names that the Cowboys will get back this season.
The Cowboys head into the bye week with a comfortable lead in the division. Dallas has much bigger goals than winning the NFC East. Still, that is still important as the Cowboys look to get back into the postseason.
