Dak Prescott has established himself as a bonafide franchise quarterback. The massive contract that he signed with the Dallas Cowboys ahead of the 2021 season is confirmation of that.

Prescott, who was recovering from a devastating ankle injury that he suffered in 2020, was off to a remarkable comeback campaign. The Cowboys quarterback opened last season on fire, and he was in the thick of the MVP race at the midway point.

A calf strain later, everything fell apart. Dallas and Prescott struggled down the stretch, ending the season in a Wildcard loss to the San Francisco 49ers.

Despite the disappointing end to what looked like was going a great season, Dak Prescott is among the top signal callers in the league. His intelligence on the field is off the charts, his ability as a passer has grown each season, and his leadership abilities are well-documented.

Dak Prescott leads NFL in notable passing stat.

Furthermore, Dak Prescott leads the entire NFL in a key passing statistic since the 2020 season. The Dallas Cowboys quarterback has thrown for 400 or more yards five times, most in the league.

The five times are more than Kansas City Chiefs superstar gunslinger Patrick Mahomes and young Cincinnati Bengals passer Joe Burrow. That is pretty impressive company for Prescott to be grouped with.

Additionally, Prescott has played the least amount of games between the three quarterbacks over the time period. Prescott has started 21 games, compared to 26 starts by Burrow and 32 from Mahomes.

Obviously, Pro Bowl wide receiver Amari Cooper helped in that department. Cooper was the go-to receiver for Prescott and the Cowboys; however, the established wideout was traded to the Cleveland Browns earlier this offseason.

Rising star CeeDee Lamb, reliable pass catcher Michael Gallup, and rookie Jalen Tolbert will be among those tasked with picking up the slack. Dalton Schultz also returns at his tight end position, where he has emerged as a real weapon in the passing game.

Dak Prescott has taken significant strides as a passer since entering the NFL as a fourth-round draft pick. Leading the NFL in 400-yard passing games is more evidence to that statement.
