The Dallas Cowboys have to address a need that is becoming bigger by the day at wide receiver.

Amari Cooper was traded to the Cleveland Browns for a fifth-round draft pick. Cedrick Wilson inked a deal with the Miami Dolphins. Now, former Cowboys wideout Malik Turner is headed elsewhere, too, as he signed a contract with the San Francisco 49ers.

Once viewed as a strength, wide receiver has become an area that has to be addressed through the 2022 NFL Draft.

Turner was a reserve in the Cowboys' wide receiver room, but the wideout did have some bright moments with Dallas. Most notably, Turner turned in a three-catch, 81-yard, one-touchdown performance versus Washington in week 15 of last season.

That performance was highlighted by a 61-yard catch-and-run by Turner in the Cowboys' blowout win.

With Turner off to a new team, the Cowboys are left with some question marks at receiver. CeeDee Lamb figures to lead the show, but the rest is all up in the air.

Michael Gallup re-signed with Dallas this offseason, but he is recovering from a torn ACL that could have him miss the beginning of the 2022 season. James Washington was added in free agency; however, the former Oklahoma State star has not had a ton of success in the NFL yet.

Noah Brown is another receiver that inked a new deal with the Cowboys, but he is used primarily on special teams and as a blocker. Relying on Lamb and Washington to begin the year is risky.

Adding a wideout in the draft is even more important, even if Malik Turner was not a consistent, down-to-down contributor. He was a valuable special teams contributor and added needed depth.

Dallas has met with potential first-round receivers Drake London, Chris Olave, and Treylon Burks. Perhaps the Dallas Cowboys are leaning towards adding a receiver with the No. 24 overall selection.
