The Dallas Cowboys are already getting heavily invested into the 2023 NFL Draft. Of which has been the preferred avenue of team-building in the last decade for the franchise.

At the moment, the three biggest needs for the Cowboys are wide receiver, corner back and offensive line.

The Cowboys, knowing their past, are likely to address WR in both free agency and the draft. Corner will be a high draft priority, possibly even in the first round.

What about offensive line? G Connor McGovern and OL Jason Peters are unrestricted free agents, while OT Terence Steele is a restricted free agent coming off a torn achillies. As well as the uncertain future of OT Tyron Smith.

Only LT Tyler Smith, C Tyler Biadasz and RG Zack Martin are assured to start next season. So it makes sense that the Cowboys are meeting with a high-profile local prospect. TCU OL Esteban "Steve" Avila, who impressed at this year's Senior Bowl.

Avila is a two-time consensus All-American and All-Big 12 offensive lineman. Having started games at guard, center and right tackle. Considered one of the best all-around blockers in the draft this year, in both run and pass protection.

Standing at 6'4" 330-pounds, Avila fits the mold of an impact player at guard. Playing with power in the run game, and a solid base in pass pro.

At the moment, he is considered a high-end Day 2 (second/third round pick). With a great outing from the Senior Bowl and the NFL Scouting Combine nearing, Avila is one of a number of players who's already rising stocks, could get even higher.

Possibly sealing him as a first-round prospect.

The Dallas Cowboys are no strangers to addressing offensive linemen with early picks. Avila is very much on their radar and could be talked about in the coming weeks as a target at 26 overall.
