Dallas Cowboys offensive coordinator Kellen Moore is a hot name in NFL head coaching searches right now.
The 33-year-old offensive coordinator, who played for six seasons in the NFL before getting into coaching, led the Cowboys to the No. 1 scoring offense in the NFL in 2021 (31.2 points per game).
As a result, several teams want to speak to Moore about their head coaching vacancies. And now that the Cowboys' season is over (thanks to that painful loss to the San Francisco 49ers this past weekend), Moore is free to interview for those jobs.
According to NFL Network's Ian Rappoport, Moore has three interviews scheduled for this week.
He'll start with the Denver Broncos on Tuesday, before interviewing with the Minnesota Vikings and the Miami Dolphins.
Moore's stock will probably never be higher than it is right now. If he's going to make the leap to becoming a head coach, this would be a great time to do it.
On the other hand, you have to wonder if he's ready. He's still only 33. And just because other young coaches — Sean McVay with the Los Angeles Rams and Zac Taylor with the Cincinnati Bengals — have found success doesn't necessarily mean that Moore will. Hiring him will absolutely be a gamble — though it's a gamble that could pay big dividends.
Either way, it's becoming increasingly likely that Dallas will be searching for a new offensive coordinator and defensive coordinator (with Dan Quinn also receiving a lot of interest from teams) this offseason.
