We are less than 24 hours removed from the Dallas Cowboys losing 38-10 to the hands of the Arizona Cardinals on Monday Night Football. It was an embarrassing performance, and the Cowboys are now sitting at 2-4 on the season.

The Cowboys are currently leading the NFC East division with their mediocre record, but there is not much optimism surrounding America's Team at the moment.

Key players such as quarterback Dak Prescott, offensive tackles Tyron Smith and La'el Collins, and others are all sidelined for the remainder of the 2020 season. The season outlooks bleak, and the only reason the team still has realistic postseason aspirations is because of how abysmal the division is.

Monday night's performance did not go very far in building confidence within the Cowboys fan base. The offense turned the ball over and looked stagnant, while the defense continues to be shredded by each and every offense it lines up against.

It turns out that the fan base is not the only group losing confidence. NFL Network's Jane Slater reported on Tuesday that players are frustrated with the coaching staff, even going as far to say that "they just aren't very good at their jobs".

Ouch.

On one hand, the team has seen numerous important players go down with season-ending injuries. Leighton Vander Esch is back but even he missed four games. The injury bug has not been kind to the Dallas Cowboys in 2020, to put things mildly.

That said, Mike McCarthy was brought in to take the Cowboys to that next step. Sure, things are a lot more difficult without his star quarterback on the field, but the Cowboys often looked unprepared even before Prescott went down. Dallas would fall behind early before having to crawl their way back into ballgames.

The defense has not improved in the slightest. Missed tackles and blown coverages have occurred each and every Sunday as the Cowboys have the league's worst scoring defense. Aldon Smith has been one of the very lone bright spots on a unit that has been torched week after week.

It is no surprise that things are boiling and players are fed up. The current coaching staff has not done a great job of preparing the team each week and may be even worse at making in-game adjustments. It just has not been an enjoyable start to the season for Cowboys fans.

We will see if any staff changes are made. The obvious one to make would be to part ways with defensive coordinator Mike Nolan. His unit has not improved at all this season and the same mistakes are still being made. The personnel is not the greatest, but Nolan has failed to bring out the best in his players.

It appears that it is going to be a long rest of the season for the Dallas Cowboys.
