The Dallas Cowboys (4-2) are constantly talked about due to the nature of their dominant defense. Featuring players like DeMarcus Lawrence, Dorance Armstrong, Osa Odighizuwa, Donovan Wilson, Jayron Kearse and much more.
However, the highlighted players of the defense comes by way of their top All-Pro's. LB Micah Parsons and CB Trevon Diggs.
Both are having great 2022 season, respectively.
Parsons has a league-high six sacks and 16 pressures. Diggs is allowing under 60 yards receiving per game in 5 out of 6 contests, with two interceptions and nine pass breakups.
However, for every positive, there is a negative.
Despite quality performances from these defensive superstars, the league is making an example of each. They are both receiving fines, almost a week after their Sunday night game, for unsportsmanlike conduct penalties.
Micah Parsons flag came as a result from a big hit on Eagles TE Dallas Goedert. On his way off the ground, Goedert was looking for the official for a flag for words spoken by Parsons. Resulting in a penalty.
Diggs's flag hurt the Cowboys a bit more. After DeVonta Smith's four quarter touchdown, a frustrated Diggs ripped his helmet off. Slamming it to the ground. All due to the Dallas Cowboys late comeback, which at the time was only a 3-point deficit, extended to 9.
Any player who has two unsportsmanlike penalties in a game will be ejected from the remainder of the contest. With the possibility of a suspension the following week.
While this is uncharacteristic of the superstars, both recognize the error and are making the efforts to turn it around this week against Detroit.
