Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator Dan Quinn and defensive line coach Aden Durde are all smiles. Once again, the Cowboys pass rush wreaked havoc on a highly coveted quarterback.
This time by way of LA Rams QB Matthew Stafford.
Not only did the defensive line apply pressure, they landed hits in the backfield. Consistently. Enough for the Cowboys to finish with an insane 36 total QB pressures.
By the numbers, it's even more eye-opening at the dominance of the front seven. LB Micah Parsons included:
- LB Micah Parsons: six pressures, three QB hits, two sacks, one tackle for loss, one forced fumble.
- DT Osa Odighizuwa: seven pressures, four QB hits, one sack, two tackles for loss.
- DL DeMarcus Lawrence: six pressures, one fumble recovery for a touchdown.
- DL Dorance Armstrong: two pressures, one QB hit, one sack, one forced fumble.
- DL Dante Fowler: four pressures, one QB hit.
- DL Sam Williams: three pressures, one QB hit, one tackle for loss, one fumble recovery, one pass break up.
- DT Carlos Watkins: three pressures.
On the season, the Dallas Cowboys lead the league with 60 QB pressures and are second in the NFL with 20 sacks. With an impressive 27.6% pressure rate.
This is only the beginning. 11 of the 12 remaining games are against opponents who have allowed 10+ sacks and 30+ pressures on the season.
The Cowboys only loss (Tampa Bay) being the only other team they have played/will play that falls below this guideline. If this is any indication, the Cowboys could be wreaking havoc all the way to a top playoff seed.
