Thursday's injury report for the Dallas Cowboys included the biggest name it could. Quarterback Dak Prescott was limited in practice with what was listed as an ankle injury.

To make the scare even bigger, Prescott confirmed the ankle in question is the right one, the same as he injured in 2020.

But before flashbacks of such a painful season get the best of you, Thursday's news is not something to be worried about, says the quarterback. The Cowboys' face of the franchise explained it had to do with wearing new shoes in practice resulting in some discomfort.

Not only does Dak says it isn't an issue, but he also promises.

"I feel great. I still feel the best that I've felt in a long time," said Prescott according to Dallas Morning News' Michael Gehlken. "I'm good to go. I promise you."

Honestly, who can blame the Cowboys' caution? You know what you have in Prescott and you know you don't have to risk him days before the season opener. Keep in mind, Dak had surgery on his right ankle and as such it makes sense to stop if the cleats he's wearing don't make him feel right.

Better safe than sorry.

Some Cowboys fans might sleep a little bit uneasy tonight because of the scare and potential flashbacks, but this does sound like a non-issue that will have zero impact on the quarterback's play on Sunday Night. There was no actual injury per the quarterback.

The only other significant development in the injury report was Michael Gallup participating in full pads for the first time since he tore his ACL last season. He's not expected back for a couple of weeks, however.
