DALLAS — There are few records Luka Doncic now doesn't hold for the Dallas Mavericks.

After his 53-point performance in a 111-105 win over the Detroit Pistons, Doncic became the sole possessor of the Mavericks franchise record for most points scored in a regulation-length game.

He also joined a pretty exclusive list of four — including himself — players who scored 50 points before February. On that list are the following players: Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, James Harden (three times), and Doncic.

Additionally, Doncic now leads the league in 50-point games with four. Four players are tied with two 50-point games.

Doncic also scored 24 points in the first quarter. It marked his 15th time doing so in his career. And it also was the highest-scoring first quarter of the season by any NBA player. On that list with Doncic is Kyrie Irving, who has notched four 20-point quarters.

Lastly, Doncic also leads the league in 20, 30, 40, 50, and 60-point games. Yes, you read that right.

Doncic is so great, his holding of one of the most impressive Mavericks records is expected.

Games like Monday night against Detroit only validate his greatness. And it speaks to the fact that he belongs in a class of his own.
