Don't blink now, the Dallas Mavericks may make a trade — allegedly.

Dallas, desperate after falling to 4-8 in the last 12 games, is willing and open to trading anyone to pair star Luka Doncic with another star player that can move the needle forward for the middling roster.

According to a recent report by Shams Charania of The Athletic, the Utah Jazz is interested in Mavericks forward Dorian Finney-Smith and Dallas would be willing to move the 29-year-old forward for the "right deal."

What Dallas is looking for is another star. After losing Jalen Brunson for nothing during the summer, the Mavericks have looked like a shell of the team they were last season. They aren't defending at the same rate they were last season. Without Doncic on the floor, Dallas' offense falls apart. And it is more obvious now, as Dallas sits locked in the middle of the pack in a jammed Western Conference, that it will take an All-Star alongside Doncic to push the team and organization forward.

But, what star is actually available?

The two best, and most known options, are John Collins and Bojan Bogdanovic. Though good players, neither are taking Dallas to the next level.

Additionally, the jury is still out on if Toronto is willing to blow things up — sending away Fred VanVleet, O.G. Anunoby, and Pascal Siakam.

If Dallas landed just one of those players, it would find itself looking at a more positive final third to the season roster construction-wise.

Either way, it's finally happening — Dallas is willing and eager to make a move for another All-Star. Many thought the day would never come.
