Ezekiel Elliott is in his seventh season with the Dallas Cowboys. Although he's not quite was he was in years past, Elliott can still be an effective runner like he was before his PCL injury last season.

The Cowboys suffered their first loss since Week 1 on Sunday to the Philadelphia Eagles. Elliott, however, put his name alongside two Cowboys greats. He became the third running back in Cowboys history to amass 10,000 all-purpose yards.

Elliott's 81 rushing yards against the Eagles was his best outing of the season so far, topping his 78 yards versus the Los Angeles Rams the week earlier. The Cowboys' comeback attempt came up short, but Elliott finished off a drive near the middle of the third quarter with a 14-yard touchdown run that sparked their efforts.

The Cowboys had a plan when it came to Elliott and Tony Pollard this season. Pollard was to get more opportunities and he has with 64 total touches so far. However, Elliott's ability to run tough between the tackles is the perfect complement to Pollard and his explosiveness in running on the edge.

"We've got two dynamic running backs," said Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy last week.

The Cowboys are fortunate to have a player like Pollard who can hit his head on the goalpost at any moment, but Elliott's hard-nosed style as well as his pass protection is still extremely valuable to what they do offensively.
