Dallas Cowboys defensive back Trevon Diggs had quite the second season in the NFL. The 2020 second-round selection out of Alabama blossomed into a star this past season.
Diggs emerged as a ball-hawking machine. The second-year defender grabbed a ridiculous 11 interceptions in 2021. That was good enough to tie the single-season record in the illustrious history of the Dallas Cowboys.
Despite the eye-popping amount of takeaways, Trevon Diggs became one of the more polarizing players in the league. Diggs plays an aggressive and risk-taking style of football, leading to giving up big plays through the air.
It is a great example of risk versus reward. Diggs is willing to bet he can come away with the reward much more than the downside.
RAMSEY SPEAKS ON DIGGS

All-Pro cornerback Jalen Ramsey was recently asked about Trevon Diggs during an episode of the Pivot Podcast. During the episode, Ramsey explained that he does not like the two of them being compared, because they play two different styles.
“He plays different. He plays in phase. It’s a different style of how he plays," Ramsey said during the podcast. "If you are a guy who plays in phase a lot like he does, you’re going to have a lot of picks, which he does. He does, so it’s working out for him. He’s one of the best at doing that. Same with J.C. (Jackson).”
Ramsey, by comparison, only grabbed four takeaways in 2021; however, the 2016 top-5 selection is known to be one of the best at locking receivers down. As he mentioned, the styles between the two are incomparable.
Even still, the Los Angeles Rams star believes Trevon Diggs is one of the best there is at the position.
The two both earned first-team All-Pro honors in 2021. It is clear that both Diggs and Ramsey are among the top defensive backs across the entire league. It's a pick your flavor type of situation.
RAMSEY TALKS ABOUT COWBOYS

The Dallas Cowboys had the opportunity to add Ramsey to its football team back in 2016. That was the same draft that saw the Cowboys come away with Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott.
Instead, Dallas opted for Elliott with its first-round selection. Elliott was the best running back in the nation while at Ohio State. The thought process was that he would help extend the career of Tony Romo. Health had different plans.
Ahead of the draft, Jalen Ramsey was under the impression that he would be the pick for the Cowboys. The Rams star discussed that topic on the same podcast episode in which he talked about Trevon Diggs.
Ramsey explains that the Cowboys made it clear that if he was on the board at four, he was going to be the pick. The star defensive back said playing for the Cowboys would've been a "dream".
Dallas ultimately went with the running back, and Ramsey was selected by the Jaguars. The rest is history.
