The Dallas Cowboys have multiple moves this offseason that has impacted the roster. Amari Cooper was traded, La'el Collins was cut, and multiple free agents left for new teams.
There will be some new faces with larger roles on the Cowboys next season. Dallas will be counting on the likes of CeeDee Lamb and rookies Tyler Smith, Sam Williams, and Jalen Tolber to be key pieces on the team.
Dallas does have an opportunity to add more pieces to the roster before training camp begins in late July. There are multiple intriguing players still available for teams to sign.
Cowboys have a good amount of cap space
The move of releasing Collins saved the Cowboys a ton of money for the 2022 season. Dallas created over $20 million in salary cap space by parting ways with Collins, who went on to ink with the Cincinnati Bengals.
That means that the Dallas Cowboys have some of the most room in the league. Dallas may end up using the space for contract extensions on players already on the roster; however, this opens up the possibility of adding outside free agents.
The first wave of free agency is well over, as much of the top available players signed deals in March. With that said, there are still some players that could be worth adding to the roster as the season quickly approaches.
Players of note include…
- WR Will Fuller
- DE Trey Flowers
- WR Julio Jones
- OLB Anthony Barr
- OLB Justin Houston
Will Fuller would make sense as a speedy deep threat. Barr has been linked to the Cowboys a little and would provide a boost to the defense alongside Micah Parsons.
Dallas could very well use the cap space to pay in-house; however, the room is there to add an outside player this summer.
