Well, it's official.

The Dallas Cowboys could not make a deal happen with Shaquille Leonard, so he signed with their arch-rival.

The Philadelphia Eagles have officially announced they have signed Leonard to a one-year deal. And what makes matters worse is the Eagles next game is against the Cowboys on Sunday night.

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler further reported that "Dallas was all-in on signing Leonard but things were quiet today." Because of that, there were thoughts that he had moved on.

And now it's clear that he did just that.

Leonard was not shy in expressing his frustration over the limited snaps he received with the Indianapolis Colts this season and because of that, the team opted to waive him on Nov. 21.

With that, it was expected that he would sign with another team looking to make a playoff run. And the Eagles are a team that are believed to be serious Super Bowl contenders.

Leonard had met with both the Cowboys and Eagles, but decided to take the weekend to make his decision.

But, his connections with the Eagles were too strong. The team in need of a linebacker since Zach Cunningham is dealing with a hamstring injury. That combined with the fact that he is also already familiar with Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni since the two crossed paths during Sirianni's three-season stint (2018-2020) in Indianapolis as the Colts' offensive coordinator was enough to convince him.

Leonard's stats are impressive, having recorded 32 tackles for losses, 31 passes defensed, 12 interceptions, 17 forced fumbles and seven fumble recoveries in his 70 games with the Colts.

This one definitely stings for Cowboys fans.
