DALLAS – There is a lot of pressure on Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb. The rising third-year wideout will be tasked of being the go-to option for Dak Prescott. Amari Cooper is no longer on the roster to take that pressure off.
Fortunately, Lamb has shown flashes of being a bonafide No. 1 option in the passing game. The former Oklahoma Sooners star earned his first Pro Bowl selection last season after going for over 1,000 yards receiving in 2021.
He has made highlight-reel plays. Lamb has also shown that he can be a dangerous weapon for Kellen Moore and the Cowboys' offense. Now, he will need to take that up a notch.
Big expectations for CeeDee Lamb
Pro Football Focus believes that CeeDee Lamb is up for the challenge. The Dallas Cowboys certainly hope so.
“CeeDee Lamb could be in for a monstrous 2022 season after raising his PFF grade from 71.6 as a rookie to 84.1 last year," wrote PFF analyst Ben Linsey.
Fellow PFF analyst Eric Eager also is in the thinking that Lamb takes another leap forward in 2022. Eager says that the Cowboys receiver will "absolutely filet" the NFL. That sets the expectations very high.
Cowboys are confident in Lamb
There is a lot of excitement regarding CeeDee Lamb within the Dallas Cowboys, too. From owner Jerry Jones to quarterback Dak Prescott, the organization expects big things from their 2020 first-round draft pick.
Jones recently told The Fort-Worth Telegram that Lamb will be an "upgrade" over Amari Cooper, who the team traded away early in the offseason. Furthermore, Prescott hopes that he gets to play with Lamb for the rest of his career.
If nothing else, it is clear that the expectations are soaring for Dallas Cowboys receiver CeeDee Lamb entering season three.
