The Dallas Cowboys have positioned themselves to be one of the most talented teams in the NFL in 2020.

Coming off the heels of an insanely disappointing 2019 campaign, the Cowboys have made the necessary changes to compete at the highest level of football. Jason Garrett out, Mike McCarthy in as head coach, being the main move.

According to NBC Sports' columnist Peter King, the Cowboys have a chance to have the best record in the NFC this season.

Cowboys the NFC's Top Seed, per Peter King?

I’ve gone through a period where I thought I’d have Seattle leapfrog everyone into the top seed, but then I figured being in the toughest division in football could give them three division losses. Dallas is the top seed not because I think the Cowboys are the runaway best team but because they’re good, because their front seven should be a monster and their offensive attack very hard to stop, and because they’ve got six games against Cincinnati, Cleveland, the Giants and Washington.

It's hard to disagree with King's logic for the Cowboys earning the conference's playoff bye-week. The NFC is stacked, with seven teams having winning records last season (not including Dallas). The Cowboys' schedule is the biggest factor in this prediction. Sure, the Cowboys have six 'should be' wins that King lists, but overall… they have the 3rd easiest schedule in the entire NFL. This will allow teams like the 49ers, Seahawks, Vikings, Packers, Bucs and Saints to beat each other up.

Eventually in Peter King's prediction column, he thinks it'll be the Bucs to reach the Super Bowl to represent the NFC, in their home city of Tampa Bay.

Regardless of postseason success, earning the No. 1 seed in Mike McCarthy's first year in Dallas would be a tremendous step forward and would open the Cowboy's "Super Bowl window".
