Last weekend, I noted that ESPN's free agent simulation had the Dallas Cowboys landing future Hall of Fame edge rusher Von Miller.

That simulation might soon become a reality for Dallas.

NFL Network's Jane Slater reported on Tuesday that Miller has "strong interest" in signing with the Cowboys.

Dallas was set to re-sign Randy Gregory, but the deal fell apart after a disagreement on contract language. Gregory opted to sign with the Denver Broncos instead.

The miss on Gregory seemingly leaves an opening for Miller to join the Cowboys.

Miller, who was traded from the Broncos to the Los Angeles Rams in the middle of the 2021 season, will turn 33 later this month. He had 9.5 sacks in 15 games last season split between the Broncos/Rams.

The former Texas A&M standout, who is from the Dallas area, went on a tear in the playoffs this season, totaling four sacks in four games.

Miller is undoubtedly nearing the end of his career. But he's still a great player who can produce at a high level. He also produces on the biggest stages. Signing Miller would fill a need for the Cowboys and also give Micah Parsons a great mentor.
