Could the Dallas Cowboys be looking to trade for an NFL superstar this offseason?

According to multiple reporters, it's starting to feel like a real possibility.

The Athletic's Jeff Howe noted on Friday that one particular rumor regarding the Cowboys is gaining traction.

Howe pointed out that a rumor that Dallas could trade for Los Angeles Rams cornerback Jalen Ramsey is "picking up steam".

From The Athletic:

All parties involved remain tight-lipped on the trade availability of Rams cornerback Jalen Ramsey, but there’s a rumor picking up steam in league circles that the Cowboys would be a good fit. Pairing Ramsey with Trevon Diggswould certainly create one of the most fascinating cornerback combinations in the NFL.

Ramsey in the same secondary as Trevon Diggs would be incredibly scary for the rest of the NFC East. And it might be the move that puts the Cowboys over the top.

But for it to happen, the Cowboys will have to give up some draft capital. Ramsey might not be in his prime anymore, but he's still one of the best cornerbacks in the league. And he's only 28 years old (he turns 29 in October). It could take a first-round pick to trade for Ramsey.

There's also the possibility that Ramsey could be looking for a new contract, which would require Dallas to rework his current deal (Ramsey is signed through the 2025 season).

Jerry Jones has never been shy about making splash moves. And this would certainly qualify. This is definitely a situation worth monitoring over the next couple of weeks. I wouldn't be shocked at all to see Ramsey in a Cowboys jersey this fall.
