The Dallas Cowboys have one of the most explosive running backs in the NFL in Tony Pollard, and last season, they finally unleashed him more than they ever had.

He registered nearly 40 fewer carries than Ezekiel Elliott, but Pollard managed to lead the Cowboys with 1,007 rushing yards which was a career-high and he also reached his top mark in receiving yards with 371.

Dallas recognized the value of Pollard by parting ways with Elliott and placing the franchise tag on him for $10.1 million in 2023. However, one NFC East rival has taken notice of what Pollard brings to the table as well.

Every season, the NFL has a countdown of the top 100 players around the league which is voted on by the players. Saquon Barkley of the New York Giants, who is one of the league's best running backs, gave Pollard some lofty praise recently when it came to this year's list which will be announced later this summer.

"Tony Pollard, he's probably one of my favorite backs right now," Barkley said. "He optimizes an every down back. At any moment he touches the ball he can score, from anywhere. 70, 60, 10, one. No matter what he's gonna find a way to get in the end zone."

Pollard is a speed demon with the ability to put his foot in the ground, make one cut and explode without losing speed. His experience catching the ball out of the backfield in college at Memphis (had 104 receptions) makes him the ultimate threat as a multifaceted weapon.

Pollard's teammate, All-Pro wide receiver CeeDee Lamb, who had a career year as well in 2022, gave him some kudos, too.

"There's no catching him," Lamb said. "Good luck trying to tackle him."

Look for Pollard to have another monster year in 2023, especially now that he's RB1 in Dallas.
