The month of November still has a bad taste in the mouths of the Dallas Cowboys. There were a number of issues that lead to losing 3 of 4 games in the month. What stands out was just how much harder their opponents played.

Maybe the hardest pill to swallow is that these teams were simply more physical than the Cowboys. The offense couldn't get on the field, and the defense was on the field too much.

Despite apply consistent pressure, opposing offenses were being let off the hook. In the 3 losses mentioned, the defense allowed 459 rushing yards, 36 minutes and 30 seconds to opposing offenses. Keeping the ball away from the offense.

Against the Saints, the Dallas Cowboys defense seemingly has gotten back on track. Even though they were outrushed and outgained on the ground, they applied enough pressure to keep Taysom Hill going backwards, and commit 4 turnovers.

Now, the Cowboys have 5 games remaining until the postseason. 4 against NFC East opponents (2 against WFT), and 4 games against top 10 rush defenses.

With teams like the Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Football Team playin their best, the division crown isn't as locked up as it looked earlier this season.

We've mentioned before that matching defensive intensity helps in winning. The defense has shown this season, against teams with great defenses like New Orleans or New England, that when they go pound for pound, the Cowboys have the upper hand.

Getting extra reinforcements, like Randy Gregory and Neville Gallimore helps. Combining them on a defensive line with DeMarcus Lawrence, Osa Odighiuzwa and others will help in stopping the run. An area that directly corelates to keeping the Cowboys offense off the field, and breaking down the defense.

Even if the Dallas Cowboys offense manages to score enough points, teams like Washington,  run the ball and keep it away long enough to affect games.

Assuming the offense continues to score 29.4 points per game (2nd in the NFL), the defense will need to play like they did against New Orleans for the remainder of the season.

The intensity given comes at just the right time to be one of the best/hottest teams in the league. Intensity that could lead them to SoFi Stadium in February.
