The Dallas Cowboys (9-3) are playing the Houston Texans (1-10-1) on Sunday but much of the football world isn't focused on this matchup.

Instead, the majority of the focus is surrounding the Odell Beckham Jr. saga, as well as the inevitable return of OT Tyron Smith. The latter of whom returned to practice this week with the opening of his 21-day window.

Despite OBJ's future with or without the Cowboys still in the air, Smith isn't the only player who's 21-day window is opened for his return. On the final day of November, WR James Washington's window opened for practice.

Less than two weeks later, it's appears he will be ready to make his 2022 season debut.

First reported by Michael Gehlken of the Dallas Morning News.

When asked how he is feeling and if he'll be ready, Washington spoke to reporters on Thursday.

"Every route feels stronger than the last. Just getting more and more trust in it… It all comes down to the coaches’ decision. But for my part, all I can do is continue to put in good reps and stay ready… I’ve been waiting to put the star on my helmet since I signed here.”

But will he be active?

Dallas Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy has seemingly confirmed: Yes.

"Based off on Wednesday and Thursday’s work, I think he’s ready to go." McCarthy said. Giving the Cowboys much needed depth at the wide receiver position.

James Washington was signed in the off-season to be the Cowboys WR3 with the trade of Aamri Cooper and departures of Cedrick Wilson and Malik Turner.

Washington fractured his right foot back in August during training camp. This occurring after missing the spring with a left foot injury.

It will likely take him time to regain his barring's and likely won't affect the OBJ news. What it does is theoretically give Dallas an upgrade at the receiver depth, which behind CeeDee Lamb and Michael Gallup is sparse to say the least. With Noah Brown being an occasional exception.

The Dallas Cowboys have five games left until the postseason and Washington's return is right on time.
